Promise kept

By His stripes

Isaiah written (740–680 BC) to The crucifixion (AD 30–33): ~710–770 years in the Modern reckoning, ~720–790 years in the Traditional.

Isaiah writes of a servant wounded for others; Peter applies it to Jesus on the cross. Many scholars date Isaiah 40–55 to about 540 BC, which would make the span about 570 years.

But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5
He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. “By His stripes you are healed.” For “you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
1 Peter 2:24–25
